Age

Which title for my child

These are classics, so the age lines are soft — a child who already loves being read to will step into King Matt a year early; one who is just starting may need a year more. As a rule of thumb:

BookAgeWhyLength
King Matt on the Desert Island8+The quieter, more reflective half of the story: an island, a lighthouse keeper, a diary. Short parts of about an hour.7 h 21 min · 7 parts
King Matt the First9+Adventure plus real questions about power, fairness and responsibility. School reading in Poland for ages 10–14.11 h 30 min · 10 parts
The Devil from the Seventh Grade12+A detective story with humour, for a teenager who likes puzzles. A little history (Napoleon), a little romance.8 h 12 min

The audio is in English today (Polish and German editions in production). For a child who is not a native speaker but has had 2–3 years of school English, it is a comfortable level: plain narration, a story that is easy to follow, and the text on screen next to the voice.

When

Three moments when it works

At bedtime

One part of King Matt = one evening (about an hour). The app remembers where you stopped. The screen can stay off.

On the road

Download before you leave and listen offline in the car or on the train. Car mode, Bluetooth and lock-screen controls.

For learning English

Voice + text on screen + illustrations = context that no flashcard can give. The child understands from the story, not from a dictionary.

Parents' questions

From what age can a child listen to audiobooks?

Our books are for children from about 8 (King Matt on the Desert Island — 8+, King Matt the First — 9+, The Devil from the Seventh Grade — 12+). Younger children enjoy listening together with a parent, with the illustrations in the app.

Is the audio in English?

Yes. Today the audio is in English — with the full text, illustrations and a character gallery. Polish and German editions are in production. For a child learning English it is a natural lesson: the voice plus the text alongside.

Are there ads or in-app purchases in the background?

No. No ads, no subscription, no ad tracking. You buy a book once and keep it forever. An account is needed only so the purchase works on all your devices.

Who reads the books?

A licensed synthetic voice (AI, ElevenLabs) — no cloning of real narrators, labelled on every title in line with the EU AI Act. You can listen to a three-minute sample for free before buying.

Can we listen offline?

Yes. In the Audio Opowieści app (Android; iOS soon) you download a book once and listen without internet — in the car, on the train, on holiday. The app remembers where you left off.

How much does it cost?

A full book is €14.99 ($14.99 in the US). The King Matt serial can be bought one part at a time — €2.99 ($2.99) for roughly an hour of story. Pay by card on the website or through Google Play.
