Reclaiming classic literature for the screen generation
Kids aged 7-14 grow up holding tablets. Classic children's literature — Polish, English, German alike — barely registers in that world. Audio Opowieści is a deliberate attempt to put it back: with professional narration, rich illustrated scenes, character galleries, maps and memory games. The format kids choose anyway — wrapped around content that means something more than the next animated rabbit.
Why we do this
The platform's founder — Marcin, a father of two, 20 years in enterprise IT — noticed his own kids knew every YouTube creator but not Korczak or Makuszyński. Classics appeared in their lives only as mandatory school reading, which is the worst possible introduction. He decided to try the opposite order: meet kids in the format they choose voluntarily (audio + touchscreen), and pour into it content that actually shapes how a child thinks.
The first book in the catalog — The Devil from the Seventh Grade by Kornel Makuszyński — was chosen on purpose: a 1937 Polish mystery that still holds a ten-year-old's attention through 8 hours of audio. Released first in English, because the English-speaking children's audiobook market is the largest — and the hardest to break into. If we can land there, we can land anywhere.
Three principles we stand on
Audio without compromise
Professional production — voices matched to the book, real editing, real mix. We don't ship flat "audio-PDFs". Each character sounds different, each scene has rhythm.
Rich visual layer
Every book ships with a 6-14 character gallery, 3-10 scene illustrations, a map or timeline, FAQ and a mini-game. Screen-native kids feel at home immediately. Text readers get the picture in their head.
Multi-language by default
Every book exists in 3 languages (PL/EN/DE) with translations that sound native, not translator-flat. For diaspora families: a child can listen in English and read in Polish side-by-side — automatic heritage language learning.

What's next
Phased audio rollout: Szatan PL and DE → King Matt PL/EN/DE. In parallel: mobile apps (Android live, iOS in production), platform for public-domain and self-published authors, education integration (lesson plans for Polish and German schools). Long-term goal: be the first platform where classic children's literature sounds and looks better than its Disney adaptation.
